Townsend
This is the big town of Townsend GA. Not much left here but the old building to the right and the defect detector building. Mostly log trucks park and do work on equipment. Looks as the Row was wide here wonder what it looked like before the tracks were gone.

Eugene Cain General Willis, that Concretelock building was the Wayside Dispatcher Radio.....Repeater and there was a huge Tower located next to it. The Tower is long gone and was similar to the one at Woodbine. The Repeater Tower still stands at Midway. (Dorchestor) That structure to the right of the trucks was also there in 1986, but I have no clue what it is for. 4/4/2011 8:34:43 PM
Eugene Cain General Concrete Block Building...sorry 4/4/2011 8:36:35 PM
Eugene Cain General I can remember how this looked Willis. There were 2 tracks here. The mainine was about where the dirt road is. I remember you could see Signals off in the distance a ways. We usually passed through at night, but a few times we came by in daylight. I remember one time, a train was sitting here waiting for CTC clearence. All the Signals were red. I remember the hge Tower by the Concrete Block Repeater Building. There were a ton of telephone poles!!! The biggest thing i remember is that it was a straight shot here...ruler straight in both directions. Always saw a headlight coming. Back then, the line seemed really busy!!!
