The day Eugene Cain found the Everett sub gone!!!
This is taken from Hwy 17 from the bridge on April 3 1986when he found it was gone. The tracks had been taken up to here with gondolas on the tracks full of ties. This totaly looks different now and is only the main line left. Havent found out what the siding into the woods was?

Eugene Cain General Today the track ends in a pile of Gravel about 3/4's a mile past the road crossing. This was a total shock to discover!!! It is a day I will never forget. The 1000 plus SAL mainline was now severed, and another section was about to go in North Carolina...the Norlina Sub. In 1988 still another chunk would be torn out between Coleman and Auburndale. Today, the old SAL Racetrack is fragmented!!! 8/4/2012 5:40:58 PM
Eugene Cain General Chessie Boneheads destroyed the SAL!!!! 8/4/2012 5:41:47 PM
